Now if you don't know what I am talking about, the OPK is the official way to load a new system. You can only get it if you are a system builder or have some kind of agreement with Microsoft (like Open Lic). OPX is an extender designed to add some much needed features to the OPK.

Now, the OPK itself is somewhat confusing. Most of it is laid out ok, but unless you read everything a lot of it might seem confusing. The OPX on the other hand is very confusing. It really needs a "getting started" guide, or some wizards to help with the common task. It does have some really great features, so its not like I have given up on it. But it is going to take more time then what I first thought.

As I learn more and get it going I will share my findings. Really the basic things most system builders do shouldn't be that hard. I will try and write a getting started guide.

Microsoft is "creating a lab to recreate the problem in". But today I get a call of someone wanting to check the status of the ticket. Um, Shouldn't I be calling you to check the status?

There seems to be a real breakdown here and now we are now near the end of week 2, I have started looking at other options. For the time being I am going to use OPK (a system builder tool), mix in some OPX (an unofficial addon to OPK), and get things going. This will at least get the PC's off my desk and still conform to the Imaging standards we setup.

When will this end? To be honest, I'm not sure it will. It is starting to look like even Microsoft has been stumped! I will keep you posted if anything new comes up.

In the mean time, this is my first time playing with the OPX, something I been meaning to do for a while but just didn't have the time. I will post my thoughts on OPX once I get through it all.
